Mexico Population Cartogram
An interactive map of Mexico where territory is distorted by population. All 2,469 municipios sized by INEGI Census 2020 data with the Gastner-Seguy-More flow-based algorithm. Watch the real map morph into the cartogram, color it by 14 census measures, find your own municipio, and explore how standard maps hide where people actually live. The central bulge of CDMX, Estado de Mexico, Puebla, and Guadalajara reveals a country shaped nothing like its borders suggest.

Runs on AWS for $0.51/month: a private S3 bucket behind CloudFront, infrastructure in Terraform, and deploys through GitHub Actions with OIDC, so no keys are stored anywhere.
